“CARRO PARADO NÃO GUINCHA”
“Stopped car, does not squeak” is an expression used in the Portuguese Language that was originated in old times, when a large part of the population worked in the countryside and used animal traction cars.
These cars were usually made of wood, and known for being noisy. To avoid the loud screeching, it was common to carry a container with tallow to anoint the axes.
Therefore, it was common to say “stopped car does not squeak …”
Our car is made of wood, but it does not squeak. Was inspired by “SADO 550”, the first portuguese microcar manufactured by “ENTREPOSTO COMERCIAL SA” in the 80’s. Despite its great success, mainly due to its affordable price, only 272 units were manufactured. SADO 550 was discontinued in 1985.
